Christian in the 21st century, an intellectual suicide ? David Robertson

David Andrew RobertsonQuestion 1 : David Robertson, would you say that when you became Christian you commited an intellectuel suicide ?
Not at all. In fact the very opposite. Like Anthony Flew I believe in going where the evidence leads me. It lead me to Christ. The Christian world view is for me the only world view that makes sense of the world in a way that is real and intellectually satisfying.

Question 2 : What questions were you particularly touched by during your search for God ? How did you come to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour ? Were there any arguments that played a key role in your conversion ?
Where did evil come from? Why do we exist? Why do we have a sense of eternity? How could we change the world? All of these questions led me to Christ. I prayed ‘God if you exist, you show me and I will serve you the rest of my life”. Through prayer, preaching, the creation and the work of the Spirit, God answered that prayer.

Question 3 : What questions are you most often confronted with in your ministry ?
Why is the Church so hypocritical? Why is there suffering? Can you prove God exists?

Question 4 : What would you like to say to any French people reading this interview ?
My favourite Christian was a Frenchman – Jean Calvin. His understanding of the Bible has really helped me in my life. Perhaps you should find the God of Calvin also to be your God. Know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.
